Sociology has always turned its head against the unregulated market. Starting indeed from Marx, Weber, Durkheim -- familiar figures, including even Talcott Parsons.

Public sociology is contrasted to professional sociology.
Above public sociology, there is policy sociology.
Critical sociology is the sociology that examines the foundation of professional sociology.
